Testing the Panasonic GH4

Another day, another new camera and lots of playing and testing. This time as the title suggests, its the Panasonic GH4. The first 4K camera which allows the user to record Cinema and Broadcast 4K video without the use of an external recorder.

A brilliant array of features, one of the most drawing for most photographers who are starting to adapt and move in to the world of moving images, is the ability to pull a 8mp still from each frame of the video.

Now not only does this fantastic camera offer you the ability to shoot fantastic quality video, but with almost 13 stops of Dynamic Range, a superb range of lenses and a fantastic sensor it becomes a fantastic stills camera.

See below for a selection of images I got to shoot on a quick walk around Nottingham today.

Now today was only a quick test and play, in the near future I am hoping to have a extended play and test of the camera, in the mean time, if you have any questions about the GH4 then ask away via Twitter: @PhotoOomph
or in the comments section below.

I would love to start shooting a couple of gigs and events with this, to see what I can really get from it. So far with what I have seen I am very impressed, and money not being an option I would most deffinetly add one of these to my own collection.

  3. Great thanks! How about getting 4K video to work? In the menu it only lets you choose up to 1080p....

  4. Another easy fix, got me at first too, on your mode dial, select the cinema/video option will then give you, your 4K option. (Which btw Youtube can handle with no issues)
