A Nation Confused by Their Cameras - NEWS

"New research from Samsung reveals over a third of Brits are under-using their cameras, more so than other technologies such as mobiles or laptops. A quarter admit to feeling worried when they press a button which produces a display they don’t recognise and just over one in ten say they are so confused by their cameras that they hand it to someone else to take the shots. In addition, many Brits are unaware of key functions on their cameras: 27% aren’t aware of the built-in flash function; 35% claim to be unaware of the delete function and 48% aren’t aware of the Red Eye reduction options available on many cameras. Note that this research has been carried out by Samsung to mark the launch of their iFunction lens and the Samsung NX100 camera (and presumably to promote them at the same time)."

The report then oes on to say...

"Samsung reveals over a third of Brits (37%) are under using their cameras, more so than other technologies such as mobiles or laptops. A quarter (24%) admit to feeling worried when they press a button which produces a display they don’t recognise and just over one in 10 (13%) say they are so confused by their cameras that they hand it to someone else to take the shots!"

With current issues arisung in photography and sceptics saying anyone can be a photographer now days. This report surely shows that to be incorect. To be a good photographer: You need to know what your doing technically, you need to be intrested and keen and you also need to have the eye for a good photo.
Thats even before you start lo0oking if your taking ethicly sound photoraphs or looking at if your going to use the photos for a purpose.

The is a huge debate around this but I do not peronally belive anyone and everyone can be or is a photographer, mearly having the equipment is enough, is it?

Would be intresting to here you comments and thoughts..
