After posting about the HDR software I had found I thought I would do a quick post for those who did not know how to create one using the Photoshop software. However the up untill Photoshop is mentioned all the steps are the same, after that it will depend upon the software you are wanting to use to create the image.
The editing of a HDR image is very easy and simple to do, it’s the work you need to do previously that is slightly more difficult. Whist technically you can make a HDR image from one RAW file I have never found these to be as successful as creating it using 3 or more different images.
To do this you need a secure tripod, a camera and subject.
First off set tripod and camera to frame the scene of the HDR
Lock the tripod off so it cant move (IMPORANT)
Set Exposure composite the far left
Set the Camera to Apeture Priority
Lock your focus
Take first image
Move the exposre composite to the right by as much or as little as you like
Take 2nd image
This repeates until you are at the far right of the composite meter
Once you have done this its time to head to Photoshop
Open up all the images should be between 3-14 stops
File – Automatee – Merge to HDR
Leave it to do its thing
Come back and touch up the curves or exposure as desired
